We deeply respect and appreciate our vegan fans. While Hu is best known for our vegan/paleo dark chocolate, we have sold both vegan and non-vegan products throughout our history, the most recent non-vegan products being our cookies, available in the US (which contain Certified Humane, cage-free egg) and our organic grass-fed milk chocolate. Our business started in 2012 as a restaurant called Hu Kitchen (which we chose to close in March 2020 due to COVID), where we built our foundation on ingredient simplicity and quality with a paleo focus. We proudly served both vegan and non-vegan foods, including high-quality milk and butter at our coffee bar. Since the days of that restaurant, and most recently with our milk chocolate, we’ve held true to our foundational values and will continue to develop products the Hu way - uniting quality, taste, and ingredient simplicity.

Yes! Our organic grass-fed milk chocolate bars are Organic, Fairtrade and follow this list of Hu NOs; no artificial sweeteners, no erythritol, no soy or gluten, no palm oil, no lecithins and no emulsifiers.

Our organic grass-fed milk used to craft our new milk chocolate bars comes from cows grazing organic pastures (for a minimum of 200 days) in the UK. Their pastures are pesticide and herbicide free and they are able to roam and graze for as long as they want. When they are brought inside, they are still fed an all organic grass diet.

The cows are grass-fed and pasture-raised. They graze organic, herbicide-free pastures day and night for an average of over 200 days each year.

The farm that we source our organic grass-fed milk from ensures that cows graze outside in their natural habitat for as long as the weather conditions allow. However, they are required to be on pasture for a minimum of 200 days per year.

The majority of the cows diet is organic grass. They can also be fed a small amount of supplemental feed of organic grains.

We do produce both our dark chocolate and our milk chocolate bars on the same molding line, and we follow rigorous cleaning protocols in between production runs of these two types of bars. However, we cannot guarantee that there is no potential for the risk of cross contamination, and, as such, we include an allergen advisory statement on our products (“may contain”). Please reference those statements on the labelling of each product prior to consumption. With the addition of our Organic Grass-Fed Milk Chocolate, our Dark Chocolate Bars are still meeting the standard of qualifications set forth by The Vegan Society to be a Vegan Certified brand.

We are still so proud to offer our organic vegan dark chocolate bars to humans everywhere. The addition of our new organic grass-fed milk chocolate line has not changed anything about the UltraSimple ingredients we source, how we craft our organic dark chocolate bars, or their vegan certification. To confirm, all of our organic dark chocolate products are certified vegan.

We currently ship to residential/commercial addresses across the UK. We are working on shipping to the EU, but we don't currently offer this.

You can cancel or update your subscription order at any time (as long as it is at least 48 hours before your order is set to refill - otherwise the change will apply to the next order). You also save 10% on all subscriptions, and never have to worry about running out of your chocolate supply again. Pretty dope.
